Marvel Rivals ranked mode has nine tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity and One Above All. You climb by earning Rank Points (RP) for winning and playing well. New players start with placement matches, ranks partly reset every season, and only the top 500 players worldwide reach One Above All.

Marvel Rivals ranked mode overview

How ranked works

Ranked uses skill-based matchmaking, so you're placed with and against people of a similar level. Your results and performance feed the system, which moves you up or down. Seasons last a set period, and at the end ranks are partly reset so everyone gets another run at the ladder.

Placement matches

Before you hold a rank you play placement games. Do well and you start higher. Think of them as the system measuring you, not a test you can cram for.

Rank Points

RP rises with wins and falls with losses. Your own performance, including kills, assists, damage and time on the objective, also feeds into it, and win streaks can add a bonus. You can't control your teammates, so focus on what you can: playing the objective, picking a hero your team needs and keeping your death count low.

Decay at the top

Eternity and One Above All need active play. If you vanish for a long time, your rank can drop until you return.

The ranks in order

RankNotes
Bronze, Silver, GoldThree sub-tiers each. Entry and early competitive ranks.
PlatinumThree sub-tiers, with tougher opponents.
DiamondHero bans begin here, one ban per team.
Grandmaster, CelestialHigh-level play with elite opponents.
EternityNeeds ongoing activity to keep.
One Above AllThe global top 500 only.

Who can queue together

There are limits on how far apart party members can be in rank, and they tighten at higher tiers. Check the in-game party screen for the current limit, since NetEase adjusts it.

Rewards

Ranked pays out skins, emotes and other cosmetics based on how high you finish, plus seasonal accolades and a leaderboard spot for the best players.

Getting into ranked

You need to reach a minimum account level first. It's been quoted as level 10 in some places and level 15 in others, so check the in-game requirement. To get there quickly, follow our fast levelling guide.

Climbing tips

  • Learn two or three heroes well rather than rotating through everyone. The character guide helps you choose.
  • Fill the role your team lacks.
  • Avoid heroes that are currently struggling. See the worst characters list.
